2021 EMMNA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
PRESIDENTS NATIONALS WELCOME
“Don’t underestimate a team working together as one, they will make things happen that seemed impossible”

It’s hard to believe it was only 12 weeks ago that teams were allowed back indoors to play with modified rules and restrictions. Only 3 weeks ago those modified rules and restrictions were lifted. In that very short period, existing teams have had limited time together, there have been multiple new teams founded, numerous trials run, a few training sessions, and even less games played in preparation for the inaugural England Men’s & Mixed Netball National Championships.
Some had said that this tournament should be delayed till next year, that there aren’t enough males playing the sport, that there isn’t enough time, nobody will want to watch, or just that this event simply wasn’t possible. You showed them otherwise. Every club, player, coach, official, volunteer, and supporter that is involved in this event has made the impossible, possible. The 2021 Nationals is testament to the passion, pride, equality, character, and professionalism that is instilled in the values of EMMNA, which each one of you has demonstrated in being a part of this fantastic event.
Over the next two days we will be showcasing men’s and mixed netball on the world stage, which is something to be very proud of. There are some fantastic high-profile players competing that will one day represent England, some experienced players that have been flying the flag for men’s netball for decades, and there will also be many new players that will start day one unknown and finish the tournament unforgettable.
This tournament is creating history, it’s a celebration of netball being for all. #NetballForAll
Its very existence is a championship win for all of you so please enjoy this moment, compete with pride, passion, humility, and respect. It’s important to not focus on the results, but to focus on what you have achieved. This is your tournament; go make some memories.
