2024 University Men’s Netball Cup

The inaugural University Men’s Netball Cup was held last year at the University of Wolverhampton. The groundbreaking tournament brought together universities from across the country, showcasing the rising demand for men’s netball within the Higher Education sector and working towards its formal inclusion in the BUCS offering. Featuring players with varying levels of experience, from England Trailblazers (U25 National Men’s Programme athletes) to newcomers of the sport, it was a fantastic display of raw talent and passion, underpinned by a strong sense of respect and professionalism towards the game, the umpires, and each other.

 

The teams competed in a round robin format throughout the day, followed by playoffs to determine the eventual champions. The final, between Warwick and Loughborough, was a nail-biting contest of the highest quality with all teams remaining to support, and Warwick ultimately claiming the trophy.

The highlight of the day though was undoubtedly the unity and camaraderie shown by all teams. The atmosphere was electric, reflecting the shared belief that this event marked the beginning of something truly special for men’s netball.

 

Building on last year’s success, EMMNA is thrilled to announce the second University Men’s Netball Cup will take place on Sunday 17th November 2024 again at the University of Wolverhampton.

We aim to surpass last year’s participation, making this tournament even more spectacular! This event is about more than just winning; it's about encouraging more men to take up netball and fostering the growth of our sport. Whether your university has an established men’s netball team or none at all, we welcome all levels of experience. What better reason to start up your university’s men’s netball team than this tournament!
